I am currently an Intake Juvenile Probation Officer and enrolled in Texas Tech’s Master's in Public Administration degree program. I am currently working on Research and Qualitative Data Analytics courses. This program has equipped me with advanced knowledge and skills in conducting research and analyzing qualitative data. Additionally, I have successfully completed a Data Analytics certificate from Thinkful, further enhancing my expertise in data analysis and interpretation. Furthermore, I hold a Bachelor's degree in Psychology with a specialization in Clinical Mental Health. This degree has provided me with a solid foundation in understanding human behavior, mental health disorders, and therapeutic interventions. Combining my background in Corrections, Juvenile probation, and psychology with my advanced training in data analytics, I am well-equipped to approach research and analysis in the field of clinical mental health from a data-driven perspective. Overall, my education in research and qualitative data analytics, along with my data analytics certificate and psychology degree, have prepared me to excel in conducting research, analyzing data, and applying evidence-based practices in the field of adult and juvenile criminal justice systems. Over the course of 13 years, I have gained extensive experience and expertise in the field of corrections through various roles within the Texas Department of Criminal Justice. Starting as a corrections officer, I have progressed through mid-level management positions and eventually taken on administrative responsibilities. As a corrections officer, I developed a deep understanding of the day-to-day operations within correctional facilities. This hands-on experience provided me with valuable insights into the challenges and complexities of working in a correctional environment. Moving into mid-level management roles, I took on additional responsibilities such as supervising and training staff, overseeing inmate programs, and managing facility operations. These positions allowed me to develop strong leadership and organizational skills, as well as the ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with diverse teams. In my administrative roles, I have been involved in policy development, budgeting, and strategic planning. These experiences have given me a broader perspective on the corrections system as a whole and have allowed me to contribute to the improvement of operational efficiency and effectiveness.
