Background
About Christopher Grantham
Honorably separated in September 2022 with twenty two years of Active Duty service in the United States Coast Guard. During this period, I served as an Aviation Maintenance Technician (AMT). With twenty years as an AMT, my responsibilities ranged from learning different aircraft systems and conducting preventative maintenance as well as daily repairs for unscheduled maintenance to instructing junior members on the standard flight procedures to become an Aircrew member, to planning maintenance and being designated with maintenance release authority as a direct representative of the Engineering Officer. All of these positions provided me the skills and opportunities through success and failure to become a great leader and supervisor. As a qualified Flight Mechanic or hoist operator as well as Flight Mechanic Instructor/Examiner, I was responsible for training members to ensure all operations were conducted to the standard that was required. This required constant evaluations and briefings with the trainees as well as other instructors to develop new training scenarios to constantly challenge crew members to be the most prepared and the best in their position. This responsibility set me up for success in the later years of my Coast Guard career as a shop or shift supervisor where I was responsible for the oversight of daily maintenance operations, scheduling for up to one hundred members on three shifts, daily schedules for 365 days of the year along with deployments and biannual evaluations of up to fifty members. The biggest step in my career was the last six years as a Senior Enlisted member. The previous jobs and responsibilities led me to the most rewarding as well as the most challenging years of my Coast Guard career. From the 2019 government shutdown to being trusted with the highest responsibility for an enlisted member and given Maintenance Release Authority on five multi million dollar aircraft. Twenty two years of military service provided continuous personal and professional growth and has given me the tools and skills of which adaptability, team building, communication, project management, instructing/coaching, networking, planning, troubleshooting, mentoring and engineering are my strengths. I look forward to the opportunity to be part of your team to help successfully complete your companies tasks, goals and overall business plan or mission.
