About Christopher Groome

I have worked in the banking industry for 28 years. I am an IT Specialist, ranging from Software development, to project management through to Data Warehousing and now currently focused on running a BI center of excellence and 2 BI Squads. In my previous projects my achievements have been in building an electronic Printing system, building and running the collating and dating modules for the bank, moved into building and managing the Current Accounts, Savings Accounts and Investment systems. I was then made a delivery manager for the Product Systems of the bank. During a 3 year period became a champion for the CMMI drive for the software development business, and focused on Measuring the maturity of the processes. Studied project management and ran multiple projects, such as the Pricing Engine, Converting the Product Systems into a software Object orientated design. Due to my experience in measuring the maturity capability of the Software development processes for the bank, I setup the BI team for the IT division, and now am currently running the centre of excellence, which has a BI Academy associated to it, and ensuring the BI standards and governance principles are adhered to. I am responsible for two well run and self driven BI squads that support all clusters of the bank with BI capabilities and enablement.
