About Christopher Holt

Christopher Holt graduated with a Bachelor of Social Science (Hons)(Psychology) at Australian Catholic University, Melbourne in 2003. He is currently a PhD student within the school of Psychology at Australian Catholic University. He has published and presented research on intimate relationships & attachment styles. His current PhD research and interests are; work motivation, flow (optimal experience), employee engagement, job performance, mental health and positive psychology. He has recently developed a reliable measure of flow in the work place and his research is now looking at the importance of flow, employee engagement and their relationship with mental health and job performance. Through his research he hopes to identify the conditions necessary that allow people to flourish in work, leisure and lead more fulfilled lives. Since 2004 he has also worked at the Clinical and Health Psychology Department at Austin Health were he has managed a number of clinical research trials into premature infant brain development and antenatal and postnatal depression.In his spare time Christopher is also actively involved in what was a few years ago thought impossible, the aquaculture of tropical marine ornamental fish and propagation of corals. Through his research into marine aquaculture and coral propagation he hopes to contribute to a better understanding of our endangered and fascinating coral reefs. He has successfully already bred and raised in captivity the endangered Banggai Cardinal (Pterapogon kauderni).
