About Christopher Houle

I have a vast amount of experience while I was serving in the military. During my time in the service I was exposed to many different training styles and leadership methods. I became very effective at maintaining accountability and I also attended schools that gave me the knowledge and training on how to be an effective leader. During my second deployment, I learned how to manage a small detainment facility. After I left the service, I worked for a couple of security firms and all of them challenged me in areas I was not comfortable in. Working security helped my find the compassion for law enforcement. My first job was for Valor Securities. Here I learned how to apply an omnipresence. This job forced me to challenge myself to interact with the community on a level I wasn't comfortable with.Universal Protection Services required me to provide security for a high-rise office building in Denver, Colorado. Here I learned the technical aspect of security. This particular high-rise had a key-card system that operated the doors and elevators. It made it extremely difficult for an evacuation. This again forced me to challenge myself in an area I was not comfortable in. I have always struggled with computers but this job brought me into the light and shown me how to operate one. My last job in security, I was employed by Hospital Shared Services (HSS). Here, I grasped the customer service side of security. I assisted the clinical staff by monitoring patients and ensuring their safety around hostile patients. This job challenged me in the physical and mental realm. I had to learn how to perceive patients and act accordingly. I left HSS to put myself through Peace Officer Standardized Training (POST). I attended Arapahoe Community College and was in a class of 22 cadets. During academy I was trained in arrest control tactics, fire arms/weapon retention, the Colorado Revised Statutes and was exposed to many different scenarios and how to react to them.
