About Christopher Hursh

I’m a passionate visual storyteller with over three decades of experience crafting impactful narratives through video. My journey began in broadcast journalism at WBGU-TV and WTOL-TV in the early 1990s, eventually leading me to WKRC-TV in Cincinnati, Ohio. During my 18 years at Local 12, I covered a wide range of stories—from natural disasters and major sporting events to troop homecomings and community milestones. If it happened, I was there to capture it. I hold a BA in Communications from Bowling Green State University, where I co-founded BG 24 News, a live daily student-run newscast. Throughout my career, I’ve been fortunate to learn from some of the industry’s most respected storytellers, including Bob Dotson, Bob Brandon, and Darrell Barton, and to collaborate with talented professionals like Lou Hebert, Dick Berry, Rob Braun, Jeff Hirsh, Frank Graff, Joe Webb, and Brad Johansen. My commitment to continuous learning has taken me to workshops and conferences such as NPPA, NAB, RTNDA, and VIDCON, where I’ve deepened my expertise in video production and marketing. I pride myself on my work ethic, professionalism, and ability to manage complex projects with agility and creativity. In 2014, I transitioned from news to healthcare communications, joining Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center’s award-winning Creative Services team. There, I helped grow the hospital’s YouTube presence into a trusted resource for patients and families, producing videos that highlighted groundbreaking research and patient stories with purpose and compassion. In 2022, I was promoted to Lead Creative Video Strategist, where I led a talented internal video team and managed external production partnerships. Our work contributed to Cincinnati Children’s being named the #1 Best Children’s Hospital in the U.S. by U.S. News & World Report in 2023. In November 2023, I embraced a new opportunity as the first Video Manager/Videographer for Lakota Local Schools, the eighth-largest school district in Ohio. I’m thrilled to be back in the field, shooting, editing, and building a dynamic video program alongside a team of creative professionals. We’re just getting started—and there are so many powerful stories waiting to be told.
