About Christopher Huvos

We respond to life's challenges in ways that reflect our unique histories and cultural backgrounds. When our responses become part of the problem, we need new methods and fresh insights to help us. I like to address a wide range of human problems, from self-defeating behaviors to problematic relationships. Where validation is needed but missing, I try to provide it to my clients, while gently urging them toward personal growth, mindfulness and improved understanding. My experience includes 24 years of inpatient work at three DMH psychiatric hospitals, as well as 36 years in private practice. I take an active role in therapy and engage with my clients at a personal level. I try to open up new possibilities for clients through focused questions and interpretive comments. I help clients develop new emotional and behavioral skills with which to take control of their lives. Native of Budapest, Hungary, moved to US at age 10. A.B, Harvard College; M.A.T, Harvard Graduate School of Education. Lived and worked in France and Libya, speak Hungarian, French, German and some Arabic. Clinical Instructor in Psychology in the Department of Psychiatry at Harvard Medical School from 1986 to 2012.
