About Christopher J. McCarthy

Chris McCarthy is an owner at Halloran & Sage LLP. He joined the firm in 2011 after spending over 20 years at Brown, Paindris & Scott in Glastonbury. Chris has a diverse practice. For over 25 years, he has practiced criminal law in juvenile court, state court and federal court, handling a wide array of felony and misdemeanor cases. This includes operating under the influence, narcotics cases, sexual assault, motor vehicle matters, white-collar criminal investigations and school disciplinary matters. After joining Halloran & Sage, his criminal practice expanded from a local practice to a statewide practice, given the fact that Halloran & Sage has a considerable statewide presence. This includes trials in all courts. On the civil side, Chris handles personal injury cases of all types, including automobile accidents, slip and falls, wrongful death and workers' compensation cases. Finally, Chris represents the largest lending institutions in the state in foreclosures, collection and bankruptcy cases. He is a versatile and experienced litigator. Chris graduated from UConn with a BA in English, with honors, and a minor in History. He studied abroad in London and traveled extensively throughout Europe in college. Upon graduating, he attended the New England School of Law in Boston. He was the book review editor for the New England Journal on Criminal and Civil Confinement and upon graduating returned to Connecticut to practice law, with a career spanning over 25 years. He lectures frequently on topics relating to foreclosure for the public and conducts training sessions for lenders he represents. He is a member of the Connecticut Mortgage Bankers Association, serving on the Board of Directors from 2014 to 2016. Chris is also an active member of his community, having coached youth sports for decades. He was also a member of the Glastonbury Lions Club and Business Networking International for nearly 10 years, having founded the Minnechaug Chapter in 2006.
