About Christopher Kanetzky

I have 20+ years of structural engineering experience across many industries including chemical, refining, commercial, residential, municipal design, telecom, and government sectors. Projects have ranged in value from less than $100K to over $2 billion installed.I began my career on a construction site as a Field Engineer where I gained valuable experience learning how a project gets built. As I transitioned to the design engineering side of projects, I was able to apply my construction knowledge to the engineering solutions I produce. I have developed concepts, created detailed design drawings, and followed projects through construction, providing guidance to the field as required. I have also demonstrated effective leadership for project teams and departments. I equate my leadership style to that of a youth sports coach, providing guidance and mentoring more than anything else. My responsibilities have included management of 20-30 people in the execution of a portfolio of small-to-mid-sized capital projects, as well as lead engineer of a 50 person, multi-office project team in the execution of a large project, and most recently the leadership of a department of 120 people.I am detail-oriented and enjoy finding the root of a problem before implementing a solution. I ensure that safety and constructability is a focus in all aspects of design. I routinely find myself taking complex structural issues and explaining them to non-technical clients in a way they can understand.Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my wife, two sons, and two dogs.
