About Christopher Kelley

I have practiced patent litigation since 1996, working on behalf of high technology clients in semiconductors (esp. CPU design, flash memory and RF) wireless communication and software technology domains. I managed both large and medium-sized teams working on high-stakes matters under substantial time constraints. I tried matters before the U.S. district courts, the U.S. International Trade Commission and the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. This includes cross-examination of expert and fact witnesses, arguing procedural and evidentiary motions, formulating case strategy, working with experts and with clients to identify and develop the best evidentiary record. The other significant aspect of my work has been in patent portfolio analysis, where I have assisted clients in assembling patents for licensing, selecting patents for purchase and in assessing the potential threats in a patent portfolio. In litigation and portfolio analysis I prioritize acquiring a deep comprehension of critical technological issues and clear communication so that my entire team has a complete understanding of the operational constraints and our plan. This preparation allows the team to adapt effectively to the moves of our adversary and to get the most from our interactions with client engineering staff and consulting experts.
