Background

About Christopher King

I am currently an English teacher and Associate Director of Learning Center Services at George School in Newtown, PA, where I teach literature and writing to (primarily) ninth and tenth graders and work with all students who have learning differences or who are struggling academically to help improve their organization, study practices, and scholastic skills. I have worked at GS since 2018. Before joining the community at George School, I was a graduate assistant at Saint Joseph's University, where I worked in the Writing Center as a tutor, assisting undergraduate, graduate, and ESL students with a variety of writing-intensive projects. In the past, I have worked as an undergraduate writing tutor at Saint Joseph's University's Writing Center and as a SCHOLAR (Students Committed to Helping Others Learn About Autism Research and Support) at the Kinney Center at Saint Joseph's University. Both of these positions allowed for me to take on an instructional role in one-on-one settings with individuals who were committed to improving their skills. I greatly enjoyed being able to work with others and help them develop the tools they needed to become more adept at handling specific tasks or assignments. Throughout all of my work, and in life in general, I have a strong desire to connect with and assist others, whether that is through writing an article that speaks to a reader or illustrating what a proper thesis is for a student in a tutoring session. I want to have a positive impact on people, no matter what I am doing, and it is my hope to continue doing so through whatever opportunities I am afforded in the future.
