Over the past seven or so years, I have had the opportunity to support nearly students, faculty, and staff of the University of Central Florida community. During my time here so far, I have built many different integrations in and out of Peoplesoft; with the largest and most successful being the Canvas LMS integrations. Over the course of developing and maintaining these integrations, I was able to improve how quickly an enrollment transaction occurred from up to four hours to just a few minutes. To achieve this, I replaced a modified delivered Peoplesoft module, the LMS batch extract process, which used an SQR that built CSV files, with a process that leveraged the Canvas REST API. Furthermore, the Canvas integrations are driven by an application I designed and built in Peoplesoft CS called the Faculty Webcourse Manager (FWM). This application allows instructors to select courses they wish to be published in Canvas as well as a few other things like grouping courses together so they can be taught as one course in Canvas. Also, after seeing the FWM in action, the University of Florida requested a copy.
