Background
About Christopher Kuczynski
I have more than 20 years of experience handling matters arising under the equal employment opportunity (EEO) laws, including developing regulations, policy guidance, and technical assistance to promote voluntary compliance. I provide advice on the investigation of charges of employment discrimination and litigation strategy in employment discrimination cases. I advise Human Resources staff on complex internal EEO matters and help to develop internal HR policies, such as policies on pproviding reasonable accommodations to employees with disabilities and policies on the treatment of employees who are lesbian, gay, bisexual, or transgender. I am an experienced trainer and public speaker, having made hundreds of presentations to audiences including HR professionals, EEo counselors, supervisors and managers, and plaintiff and defense counsel. I serve as a spokesperson to the press on EEO matters, most notably, the Americans With Disabilities Act and the Genetic Information Nondiscrimination Act. I am familiar with the interaction of EOO laws with other federal workplace laws, including the Family and Medical Leave Act and laws governing the unionized workplace. I have excellent legal research, writing, and editing skills, and have managed the work of experienced EEO attorneys. I have enforced Titles II and of the ADA, which prohibit discrimination on the basis of disability in programs and activities of state and local governments and in places of public accommodation. While at the EEOC, I served for six months on a detail as Associate Director of the White House Domestic Policy Counsel from October 2003 to April 2004, handling matters related to the President’s initiative on behalf of people with disabilities.
