About Christopher Leya

I am a Director of Facilities Maintenance Management who leads custodial and technical staff to achieve operational excellence at large-scale private, municipal, and public facilities. I established Dominican Villages’ Maintenance Department from the ground-up by implementing green energy-saving disciplines and sophisticated BMS technologies that enhanced resident satisfaction, pushing CSR scores from 90 to 100%. Additionally, I turned around the inefficient maintenance department at the Botanical Gardens by implementing process improvements and upgraded Atria’s QE scores from failing to passing. As well Capital project management from bid process to completion. I maintain the highest standards regarding day-to-day operations and when managing cost-efficient capital improvement projects. One notable project was the “Space & Power” design I created for a large-scale database at the Botanical Gardens that was utilized by pharmaceutical companies for plant research. My knowledge of engineering protocols and local regulations is extensive, as are my certifications from the FDNY, Department of Health, Department of Buildings and OSHA. I am proud to have earned Dominican Villages’ first accreditation from the Department of Health for handling disaster preparedness, as well as having received commendations for Work Excellence and Outstanding Maintenance Performance.
