About Christopher MacHala

I am a recent graduate with a degree in Supply Chain Management from Rutgers Business School in New Brunswick, NJ. Since July of 2023, I have been working full-time as a buyer for Reckitt Benckiser where I work with the purchasing executives of the company throughout the United States. Most notably, I temporarily filled in as a senior buyer at Reckitt's plant in Wanamingo, Minnesota until someone could be hired full-time. While in the role, I worked on both the direct and indirect sides of the business. In both areas, I helped manage relationships with suppliers by confirming delivery times, approving invoices to pay vendors, negotiating pricing & contracts to implement cost savings, and helped to keep the plant running. While attending Rutgers Business School, I worked as a warehouse supervisor intern at Wakefern Food Corp. I was responsible for several warehouse operation tasks including supervising the loaders on the ground floor of the warehouse, checking the Wakefern master data system to monitor the progress of each order on the shipping dock, and going to the order's corresponding location to close the trailer and overhead doors. In this position I was moved around three different departments of the warehouse which were shipping, receiving, and the pallet dock. This was only a four month internship program as part of the Rutgers School of Business curriculum. I am honored to be an Eagle Scout, and thankful for the years I spent in the program and the skills I've learned such as organizing camping trips, communicating and networking with multiple organizations, and guiding my troop during meetings as senior patrol leader. Perhaps the most rewarding experience of the program was watching the younger scouts as they progressed in rank to become fine leaders in their own right. I have a passion for figuring out the solutions to problems, interpreting the meaning of statistical data, and managing my time efficiently in order to achieve my goals in a timely manner. While I invest the majority of my time in my work and networking myself in the professional environment, I am also a passionate guitar player, vocalist, and songwriter!
