About Christopher Marcos

I am a dedicated professional currently working as a mental health rehabilitation specialist at River Oak Center for Children where I contribute to their FIT program working with families and children. I have been able to take on various roles across the mental health field, including (but not limited to) crisis counseling, thesis level research, presentations at psychological conferences, and even applied behavioral analysis. I graduated in 2019 from Sacramento State with a BA in Psychology. Volunteering has been a cornerstone of my career development. I served as a crisis line phone counselor at the California Coalition for Youth, providing critical support to those in need. Additionally, my academic curiosity led me to work as a research assistant in Sacramento State's psychology labs, focusing on both quantitative and cross-cultural studies. Within the last few years, I have acted as a registered behavioral technician working with children across the ages of 3 and 8 years old, all of which have successfully graduated from the program under my counseling. I am on an exciting path towards becoming a licensed marriage and family therapist, a goal I am actively pursuing through my studies at the University of San Francisco. I am enthusiastic about the future and dedicated to making a positive difference in the field of mental health.
