About Christopher McSwain
Chris McSwain is an alumnus of Sacramento State University where he received a degree in government-journalism and as an alumnus served on the advisory committee for the College of Arts and Letters. He was the Finance and Administration Section Chief at the Camp Fire Incident Debris Removal Operations Center, where he oversaw $1.75 billion in contracts to clean up the most devastating wildfire in California history. He is now with CalRecycle's Office of Public Affairs, where his focus is using his public communication skill-set to enhance operational efficiencly. For five years, he was executive director for the Old Sacramento Business Association, an affiliate of the Downtown Sacramento Partnership. With 18 years at California Musical Theatre (now Broadway Sacramento), the largest non-profit arts organization in the Capital Region, he promoted over 250 separate theatrical productions and the opening of two new theaters, established and managed a full menu of Internet-based marketing and advertising, and served as a member of the senior management team as Community Affairs Director. He supervised and implemented marketing and customer service communication through printed media, direct mail and cooperative business relationships. As an outspoken advocate for the arts and quality of life issues, he was a frequent speaker before civic organizations. Before joining the non-profit sector, he served as graphic design consultant to AT & T's Complex Provisioning Task Force. He also worked as a general assignment reporter for The Daily Republic newspaper in Fairfield, California. An active community volunteer, Chris has served on the board of directors of Gedatsu Church USA, the Natomas Youth Association, the Arts & Business Council of Sacramento, the League of Sacramento Theatres, and the Kiwanis Club of Natomas. He was an active Scouting volunteer, and recipient of the Silver Beaver award for service to youth. He also received the N Factor Award for outstanding community service from the Natomas Chamber of Commerce.
