My Master’s degree in Education sparked an interest in best practices. Over the last three years at AISJ, I have been developing and refining a curriculum that is conceptual, personalized, and follows a Workshop Model. I have significant classroom experience in both Middle and High School have taught Middle School Social Studies and Language Arts, International Baccalaureate European History, and Advanced Placement American History. I have also taught college preparatory courses in American, World, and Asian Studies. This experience has given me considerable knowledge and understanding of a wide range of different age groups and how they learn. In addition, I have extensive experience in planning, teaching, and revising creative units using UbD that embed inquiry. Having been an 8th-grade team leader and Middle School Social Studies Department Chair, I understand the complexities and the rewards of coaching and mentorship.
