About Christopher Metz

I was involved in NROTC, volunteered with Circle-K, belonged to a social fraternity, and had a job as a Cornell tour guide. With Circle-K, the collegiate version of Key Club, I volunteered every free weekend I had – from community clean-ups to throwing out rotten apples at an organic farm. When I was a brother in Pi Kappa Alpha, I was the contact/communication leader for recruitment, former social chair, and was involved in community service in our town. When as a tour guide, I served as the first face for prospective students. I enhanced my public speaking skills and ability to handle stressful situations from leading large, diverse and international tour groups. I translated these skills to NROTC, where I was selected for the billets, Battalion Adjutant and Battalion Operations Officer. My unit responsibilities included everything from designing the plan of the week to making sure every Midshipman had their required insignia. I learned leadership from NROTC, confidence from tour guiding, cooperation from my social fraternity, and service from volunteering. I believe all of these qualities have helped shape me into someone who can take on any problem and is an ideal candidate for representing Cornell at any company.
