About Christopher Meuth

I graduated from Texas A&M University in December 2014 with a Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Engineering. In January 2015 I began working as an Engineer for Samsung Austin Semiconductor. My job function since then has been Manufacturing Supervisor, although my title is still Engineer 1. I use my knowledge as an Industrial Engineer to manage factory resources to sustain line flow, increase factory throughput, and meet production deadlines. I accomplish this by having a thorough knowledge of static factory bottlenecks and constantly seeking dynamic, temporary issues that will become bottlenecks. Monitoring for tool efficiency, utilization, line speed, waiting and queue times,and schedule delays all help me to identify factory issues.When I find an issue I work to define the issue, inform the stakeholders, and develop a long-term solution. Most often my daily issues involve temporary capacity restrictions due to equipment failures or inefficiencies. We work to alleviate these problems by focusing factory resources on repairing high priority equipment and ensuring that all available equipment are being utilized fully. In addition, a key function of my job is managing, developing, and effectively working with my employees. I have five direct reports who I personally review, train, and give daily instruction to. The most important part of my job is properly evaluating, training, and utilizing the members of my team. Some of My other skills include: Excel Visual Basic Macro Creation, Lean and Six Sigma Methodologies, a background in materials research, a Math Minor, Statistical process control, Environmental Engineering, Process Improvement, Capacity Planning, Time and Motion Studies, Experience reporting and presenting to senior management, and Developing and Implementing Training Programs for Employees.
