Background
About Christopher Nally
Hello! I am a trained and qualified QC analyst for the Saflex department at Eastman Chemical company. In the Saflex lab we are proficient at testing resin for both production and distribution. We also test chemicals used to ensure the engineers are producing a quality product. As part of the QC team, I am also responsible for testing the sheet produced at Saflex, and accurately entering test data, ensuring the engineers know what adjustments to make to produce a quality product for distribution of Saflex sheeting. Prior to Eastman chemical I worked 18 years as professional painter; 4 of which were as a member of the DC 35 Painters and Allied Trades union. There I was responsible for high end industrial and commercial coats, sometimes requiring epoxies and other high performance painting products. I logged in over hours of spray painting application. My other years as a professional included a variety of construction painting for residential and commercial properties. I also developed business skills in estimating jobs and customer relations. I was also responsible for quality control, and job management. During my time as a painter I went back to college to finish my bachelor’s degree in History Education. I was both working full-time, and going to college full-time. I completed my degree and worked briefly as a long-term substitute for the city of Springfield. My last year of college I was working and going to school full-time, and decided it was a good time to get married. Taking on a lot at once, and succeeding, helped me gain the confidence I have today. I learned a lot about what I was capable of during this 3 year period. I started my work history as a Team Sports salesman at Dick’s Sporting Goods. I spent 5 years with the company and learned many lessons on people skills, customer service, sales, and team building. While working at Dick’s Sporting Goods I earned my associates degree in General Studies(The baseline for my future college endeavor). I also did an internship for 5 months at Walt Disney World during this timeframe. There I leaned about different cultures and working in a diverse environment. The many jobs I’ve taken, along with education and life lessons has developed me into a well rounded human; it’s given me the confidence to succeed towards reaching any goals that I set for myself both professionally, and outside of work. I am a family man who takes pride in being a good husband, father, brother, son, and friend. I’ve learned the most important lesson: be kind and thoughtful.
