About Christopher Oconnell

In a highly regulated and scrutinized industry such as Aerospace, Global Commodity strategies often don't turn out as planned.By using a disciplined process that combined Project Management, Commodity Management, Quality Management and Supply Chain Management, I was able to vastly improve the odds of success.* I brought a collaborative effort to developing and managing cross functional project teams to strengthen team member accountability.* I brought many of the tools I learned in the Automotive industry as a New Product Launch Program Manager and adopted them to Aerospace. Well known automotive concepts such as PPAP and Design For Manufacturability were not as widely used in Aerospace as they are now.* I brought site level purchasing and inventory management skills that I learned as a Supply Chain Manager and Senior Buyer.* I brought strategic global commodity management skills and negotiation skills I learned as a Global Commodity Manager and Strategic Sourcing Manager.* I brought Quality Management skills such as supplier capability studies, gauge R&R's and inspection plans that I learned as Quality Engineer. My personal mantra is "there is always a better way," and I continually strive to find that way. My passion is to deliver results through creative, collaborative and unique solutions to complex strategic supply chain initiatives.
