About Christopher Owens

I am a well-rounded police officer who takes great pride in leading and mentoring younger officers and teenagers. While serving as a patrol officer, I volunteered for specialty assignments such as K-9 handler, field training officer, evidence technician, honor guard, and certified drone pilot. As a School Resource Officer (SRO), I am responsible for ensuring the safety and well-being of a school district with approximately students. My SRO duties include the triad concept of school-based policing: teacher, informal counselor, and law enforcement officer. I am committed to leadership opportunities, both formal and informal, to achieve the organization’s goals. As a natural leader, I planned and trained the Fishers Police Department (FPD) Citizens Academy for twelve years, FPD Teen Academy for three years, and the FPD Cadet program for three years.
