Anecdotal Self-Description Never the type to move stickers on a Rubik's Cube, when I was younger I could solve the "impossible"​ puzzle in under 5 minutes from any position (as an aside, the world record is just over 5 seconds). This little talent was acquired over months of tinkering that - in all honesty - started because a teacher needed to give me “distractions” to prevent me from continuously disrupting the class. Why is this at all relevant to who I am, beyond the obvious fact I love to conversationally plug the Rubik's Cube world record (seriously, 5.25 seconds, start to finish, American teenager.awesome)? In essence, despite my admittedly short attention span, when something catches my interest I analyze it, spin it around, and try to see all angles until I feel confident I know everything I need to about it. Occupation Currently engaged in a professional career where my job is to move decimal points all day - and then explain why I did it - I satisfy my knowledge interests in areas beyond the spreadsheets I cherish so deeply. I do this by analyzing the operations of my organization, repeatedly and to a fault. While at Homeland, this resulted - beyond my normal work responsibilities - in multiple process enhancements for utilization across the Department, a number of references, recommendations, and job offers, and even a few awards. Aspiration Now with a new position at the Bureau of Reclamation, my hope is to bring that same relentless enthusiasm to the mission of water restoration across the U.S.(for those, like myself, who do not maintain a definition for "reclamation"​ in their vocabulary, it means to restore to a better state). Although more specific, this mission space represents a budgetary mashup of multiple fund types, competing Congressional interests, and literally millions of responsible stakeholders.
