About Christopher Peluso

My focus of study within Medicine is in the area of Emergency/Wilderness/Austere Medicine, and medically directed technical rescue. I am formally trained in Emergency, Pediatric, and Internal Medicine. I also went on to complete a Wilderness and Austere Medicine Fellowship. Currently I work with the Wilderness and Austere Medicine and Emergency Medicine groups at Atrium Wake Forest in North Carolina, as a member of a Mountain Rescue Association certified rescue team (Appalachian Mountain Rescue Team), as a rescue technician on the county level, and as a contracted physician for several groups teaching and advising medical care at point of access and prolonged field care situations. My specific interests include bridging the gap between austere and conventional medicine, rescue practice and prehospital care, and working in high stress-low resource settings where operating with precise decision making capacity under crisis is paramount to success. I additionally train regularly in multiple technical fields of rescue skills.
