About Christopher Penner

I am an Advanced Care Paramedic and emerging healthcare leader with a strong foundation in frontline emergency care, progressive leadership within Alberta Health Services, and a growing academic focus through my Master of Public Health studies. In my roles as Assistant Supervisor and Interim Clinical Operations Supervisor, I was involved with initiatives in resource planning, policy implementation, and performance management across 7 EMS station in Alberta’s Southwest Zone. I supported clinician advocacy, stakeholder engagement, and system coordination to promote high-quality, sustainable emergency care. My past work has included contributions to quality improvement through involvement with the South and Central Quality Patient Safety Committee, and research into EMS provider fatigue and shift patterns as part of a capstone project in my undergraduate studies. I’ve also been involved in healthcare education initiatives like the PARTY program and precepted new paramedics in clinical placements. Now pursuing an MPH, I remain passionate about the integration of emergency services with public health, improving systems of care, and advancing equitable, patient-centered healthcare for all Albertans.
