About Christopher Peterson

I am in my sixth year of full time employment as a Family and Consumer Sciences teacher for Billerica Memorial High School. I teach foods classes and a life skills courses. I love my job because I teach the kids real world skills and prepare them for life on their own. I also facilitate numerous after school programs. I am also a clinician for Beth Israel Lahey Health and have been employed part time for over 4 years as one of their DAE instructors. I facilitate 1sr Offender driver alcohol education groups. I am former Director of DAE Services at The recently closed Psychological Center in Lawrence MA. I was in charge of 4 DAE facilitators to which i provide direct supervision to. I was responsible for scheduling, BSAS compliance, and to the Office of Probation in regards to our shared clientele. I also worked as the Senior Facilitator for AdCare Criminal Justice Services at the Middlesex Sheriff's Office in Billerica MA. I supervised 4 other employees at the ARC Program under the Program Director. My main priority was the clinical supervision, group facilitation, and the daily functions of the program. Prior to that I was the Program Director for AdCare Criminal Justice Services at Essex County Correctional Facility in Middleton MA. I worked in a dual supervisory position in charge of two programs supervising a 4 person staff at the Treatment and Recovery for Addictions in Corrections unit and overseeing 2 others in the Alternatives to Violence Program. My main priority was the clinical supervision, grant compliance, and facilitation of the daily functions of each program. Prior to that I specialized in the care and well being of HIV positive clients in the corrections setting. Specialties: Education in specialized topics of HIV and STD's. Substance Abuse Education and 12 step programs. Peer Education Training. Degrees and Certifications: Currently hold an M.A. in Criminal Justice, Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor 1,(LADC 1) B.A. in Psychology/Philosophy, Licensed Social Worker,(LSW), Teachers Licensure in Health and Consumer Education.
