About Christopher Ptak

My first program was on my father’s computer from the 1980s. My second program was written in Scratch, a programming language for kids. I work with all age ranges! I am a software engineer located in the Upstate New York area with over 8 years of experience in security-oriented Agile development and line codebases, currently working in the private sector. I am proficient in Java, Python, C/C++, and some weird (cool) languages like Haskell and Elm. I have extensive experience with cloud services like AWS and tools like Docker and Vagrant. In the past I have mentored development teams to make prototype and full fledged products in the areas of security evaluation, QA, mesh networking, and cryptography. In my free time I do charitable service work with organizations like Meals on Wheels and Catholic Heart Work Camp, under the strong belief that I have a duty to support those around me. I hope in my career to create secure and reliable software components and concepts, and to improve the world of information security.
