I started at the University of Delaware in 2010 in pursuit of my PhD in Marine Bioscience. My focus is on the molecular ecology of Heterosigma akashiwo in the Delaware Inland Bays, as well as comparing two molecular techniques for detection and quantification of H. akashiwo for eventual use in management of coastal waterways. The other aspect of my project is examining the association of Heterosigma and the bacteria Vibrio within the inland bays of Delaware.
