About Christopher Scheer

I have a rich and varied work history, with a clear throughline: Talent and passion for investigating the world, working to explain it to others, and seeking solutions to seemingly intransigent problems. After becoming a father, I moved from political journalism to public education, teaching and coaching in urban high schools since 2005. Now I am moving toward a third act: becoming a licensed therapist, so I can continue working with urban youth and other at-risk populations in more focused, healing settings than the classroom allows. As I make this transition, I am seeking relevant paid and volunteer opportunities. I will be attending The Wright Institute's Master's in Counseling Psychology from Fall 2020, in their weekend program, so I can work, as well.
