Experienced Mechanical & Maintenance Engineer | Heavy Industry, Power Generation & Heritage Rail I am a highly skilled and apprentice-trained mechanical engineer with a strong foundation in heavy industrial maintenance, fabrication, and systems integration. My career began on the shop floor, working hands-on with complex mechanical systems — from industrial boilers and pipework to conveyor systems and control mechanisms — and I quickly progressed into more diverse and technical roles. Over the years, I’ve expanded my expertise beyond traditional mechanical systems to include low-voltage electronics, precision alignment, and complex maintenance procedures. I’ve contributed to forward-thinking projects such as carbon capture initiatives and have worked as an embedded contractor at major facilities including Drax Power Station. Currently based in Calgary, I serve as a Railway Maintenance Engineer at a heritage park, where I’m responsible for the upkeep and operation of historic steam locomotives and rolling stock — blending deep technical knowledge with a passion for preserving engineering history. I bring a combination of hands-on experience, technical versatility, and a proactive approach to problem-solving in demanding environments.
