About Christopher Solomon

At the age of fifteen I could not run more than a quarter mile without stopping. I was incredibly overweight and out of shape, until I decided that I didn't have to be and started to run on my personal time. It was a slow and gradual progression but I began to increase the distance I could run over a period of months. Ten months after I started to run, I completed my first of several half marathons without stopping. I went from a quarter mile to thirteen point one miles within ten months. At this point in life I realized that my work ethic towards life reflects what I get back out of things. On my sixteenth birthday I started my first day of work and ever since then I've been working as hard as I possibly can, trying to learn everything I can and working towards my goals. I found a connection to the trades because it values knowledge, hard work and attention to detail. I have worked in the automotive, construction and septic industries but decided my calling was to become a firefighter. Being a firefighter is hard both physically and mentally but is incredibly rewarding in the aspect of serving, interacting and educating your local community. It's not easy by any means to become a firefighter but that's part of my draw to it. Anything worth doing shouldn't be easy.
