About Christopher Soto

I am seeking to further develop my knowledge of Cyber Security. I was originally drawn to the industry because of the fear and respect I had for hackers, but that developed into a strong desire to raise awareness to the dangers of the internet. With a world becoming ever dependent on technology, it is our responsibility to protect others in need. Throughout my time at USF, I learned from many great minds about the foundations of Cyber Security. The combination of my studies and experiences throughout various internships has only ignited the fire to become a well rounded professional. Thanks to the Whitehatters Computer Security club at USF I was able to learn, practice, and meet professionals who have taken the industry by storm. Learning about the different industries within Cyber, I am most drawn to Vulnerability management and Cloud Security. Working with SOCOM at Jacobs opened my eyes to how critical security has become. My security governance, risk, and compliance internship at Inovalon exposed me to Industry regulations such as HITRUST and HIPAA. In an industry that evolves daily, self motivation and desire are what drives me to become a better version of myself. It is important to be like a shark and never stop swimming because the second you stop evolving with the industry, well, you'll be left behind.
