About Christopher Stahl

I am a passionate Mechanical Engineer innovating in areas of additive manufacturing, returning to the "New Space" industry of communication and observation satellites. I have joined Maxar's Space Infrastructure division, after augmenting Abbott Structural Heart's New Technology Introduction (NTI)/R&D team, and about 2 years as an Applications Engineer of medical components at Lumenous Device Technologies. I was previously a Sr. Mechanical Engineer in the Solar Array and Deployable Subsystems Engineering group at SSL (formerly Space Systems/Loral (and now Maxar Space Infrastructure)), which is the world leader in providing high-power commercial communications satellites. I studied Mechanical Engineering and Design at Northwestern University, and more recently some non-matriculated study of Solar Photovoltaics (PV) and Renewable Energy at Santa Clara University and Stanford's Center of Professional Development. Those studies were pursuing longtime interests that have been bolstered by my experiences in Kenya while taking the opportunity to utilize my passion to serve others by going with my wife to volunteer for a year, which included various engineering projects in the area. It was an incredible chance to gain unique and invaluable experiences living among and serving a community near Mombasa. Early in my career, I worked in a dynamic engineering department at Harken Yacht Equipment with experience overlap from projects focusing on cost reduction from design and manufacturing aspects to projects catering to specific requests from Grand Prix and ocean racing customers. I look forward to racing sailboats in my free time again someday. Specialties: Additive Manufacturing Design, Product Design, Concept Generation Techniques, Concept Evaluation, Computer Aided Design, Technical Writing, Destructive and Non-destructive Testing, as well as Supporting the Technical Service and Customer Service departments with the technical information of the projects I have worked on. I really strive to be someone people can rely on to help them serve the customer well.
