About Christopher Ubing

It is my passion to provide high quality interactive learning experiences in physics and astronomy to a diverse community of students at the secondary and community college level. I actively practice inclusive excellence in all of my classes so that all learners have an opportunity to grow and succeed. For 30 years, I have successfully taught in both urban and rural post secondary environments and enjoy working with all students regardless of preparation. Specialties: Applications of web based technologies to teaching and learning science and mathematics. Modeling physical systems using computer based labs, data analysis software, and computer algebra systems (specifically Mathematica and Maple). Updated skills in using Blackboard and other CMS for conducting on ground and online classes. Use of computer algebra systems to assist students in visualizing abstract concepts in physics, and math. Creates lab experiences in astronomy and physics which can be used in both F2F, Hybird and Online environments.
