About Christopher Watson

Christopher "Chris" Watson was born and raised in the North Kenwood neighborhood in the Southside of Chicago. He is a Senior double majoring in Government and Africana studies within the College of Arts and Sciences at Cornell University, class of 25. Chris’ upbringing in Chicago and time at Cornell helped shape his affinity for politics and law surrounding advocating on behalf of the people. He has a deep passion for advocating for housing rights, fighting for those affected by redlining and housing discrimination, and mitigating health disparities within the Black community. At Cornell, he is the Co-Political Action Chair of Blacks Students United and the External Relations Director of the Black Ivy Pre-law Society. He has previously interned for the City Council of Chicago as an Aldermanic intern, the non-profit Coalition on Human Needs in D.C, and the United States Institute of Peace. After graduation, he plans to attend law school in the near future, continue fighting for the rights of vulnerable populations by working on policy in a congressional office, and eventually hold public office representing the constituents of his hometown.
