Background

About Christos Kokkalis

I hold three Master’s degrees that form the backbone of my professional journey: an MEng in Rural & Surveying Engineering from NTUA, an MEng in Transport Planning & Engineering from the University of Leeds, and an MSc in Finance & Shipping from AUEB. This academic path has given me a unique blend of technical, analytical, and financial expertise — from data analysis, transport modelling, and infrastructure systems to financial markets, commodity trading, and global supply chains. Over the past years, I have built my career in commodity trading and operations, working with leading firms such as Trafigura and Mercuria. These roles allowed me to gain hands-on experience in metals markets, supply chain logistics, risk management, and process optimization, while strengthening my commercial and analytical skills. Currently, I work as a Gas Trader at Heron Energy, where I am expanding my expertise into energy markets and natural gas trading, with a focus on market dynamics, strategy, and risk management. I am passionate about trading, energy transition, and supply chain optimization — always seeking to create value through efficiency, analytics, and strategic thinking.
