About Christos Thomos

Graduated from the Electrical & Computer Engineering Dept. at University of Patras, Greece in 2005, having specialized in the division of Telecommunications & Information Technology. My Diploma thesis, entitled “Routing protocols for Ad-hoc Wireless Networks”, awarded an “Ericsson Award of Excellence in Telecommunications” for best Diploma thesis in 2006. In 2011 I received my PhD Diploma in Electrical Engineering. The main subject of my thesis included the design, development and implementation of algorithms for digital baseband receivers in wireless Ultra Wide-Band (UWB) comm. systems. During this period, I've also participated in some minor research projects and served as a teaching and lab and teaching assistant for many undergraduate courses. From 2012 to 2016, after a short pause for my military duty, I've worked as Adjunct Faculty and Post-Doc visitor in the Dept. of Computer Engineering & Informatics Dept. in University of Patras and as an Educational, Scientific and Research Faculty of Technological and Educational Institute of Western Greece. During the same period I've also participated as Postdoc Researcher in FP7 European Research Programs (ROMEO FP7, SOLDER FP7), Hellenic NSFR projects (EMOSIC) and other minor projects. Since June 2016 I am R&D Engineer with Infineon Technologies. My research interests include Digital Communications, Wireless Comm. Systems, DSP System Design, FPGA-based Signal Processing & Prototyping, VLSI architectures for signal processing, Embedded Systems, Software and Cognitive Radio, 4G/5G Mobile Comm. and Wireless Sensor Networks. I'm author of several publications and I've served as a reviewer and session chair in many conferences. I am also a member of and the Technical Chamber of Greece.
