About Christy Flagg

As an environment, health and safety manager at International Paper, I oversee the safety programs and compliance for the manufacturing operations of one of the world's largest paper companies. I have more than 10 years of experience in safety management, working in the construction, maritime and manufacturing industries. I started my career as a safety specialist at Cianbro, a diversified construction company, where I was involved in multiple projects across various sectors, such as power, marine, and transportation. I have a bachelor's degree in Small Vessel Operations from Maine Maritime Academy, and I also completed courses at Central Maine Community College in Medical Coding & Electronic Health Records. My core competencies include risk assessment, accident investigation, emergency response, training and coaching, and regulatory compliance. I am passionate about creating a culture of safety and excellence in the workplace, and I constantly seek to improve my skills and knowledge in the field of environment, health and safety. My goal is to protect the well-being of the workers, the environment, and the company, and to contribute to the development and growth of the paper industry.
