About Christyna Nelson

As a graduate of Indiana University of Pennsylvania with a Bachelor's of Science Degree in Nutrition and Dietetics I have always had a passion for helping people lead happier healthier lives. I currently hold the position as WIC Coordinator and Nutritionist, where I supervise three WIC different diverse centers and oversee 12 staff members. I work a lot within the community with partners and attend outreach events and as Nutritionist, I counsel pregnant and postpartum women along with children up to five years old. Previously, at my last WIC center in Allentown, PA; I was part of a blooming lives wellness program where we taught nutrition classes to adults, middle school and elementary aged children. Being a WIC nutritionist and now working on a higher scale in WIC, I can say this is most rewarding job I’ve had, and every day is a new chance to help people!Previously, I was Assistant Manager at a gym called Uptown Fitness where I helped to facilitate all the working operations at the gym. I also started a nutritional counseling service there to promote healthy eating, which goes hand in hand with exercise. I used my certification as an ACE Health Coach to create nutrition classes which I taught to the public, both adults and children.Most recently I became certified as a Personal Trainer through ISSA. Due to COVID-19 and gym closures I am working on creating my own business as an online health coach.
