My team and I have created a process called the Humanize Method which helps organisational leaders achieve a humanized workplace so that they can improve collaboration, achievement and foster an environment in which customers and stakeholders feel valued. When organizations have thriving, profitable work environments it is because their leadership embodies all five of the following Keys to a Humanized Workplace: • Empower – Leaders need to overcome the habit of micromanagement so employees are freed up to do what you hired them for. • Motivate – Leaders need a full toolkit of incentives, motivations and inspirations to get them out of the trap of promising raises, promotions and bonuses. • Innovate – Companies need innovation in order to survive. And workplace cultures need to foster Innovation rather than kill it. • Harmonize – An organization’s systems, processes and procedures need to fit its people and its purpose. In a Harmonized workplace people spend more of their time doing important work and less of their time arguing, complaining and justifying. • Develop – Leaders need to overcome the default obsession with task management and effectively coach people toward growing their abilities and mastering their craft.
