About Chuck Cowan

Charles D. Cowan is Managing Partner of ANALYTIC FOCUS. Dr. Cowan has over 50 years of experience in research and design applied to issues in finance, insurance, and litigation or arbitration. He specializes in the development of economic and financial research and its use in risk management and economic value studies. Prior to cofounding ANALYTIC FOCUS LLC, Dr. Cowan has held a number of positions in Federal government and the financial and research industries, including: Chief Statistician, Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation Chief Statistician, U.S. Department of Education Director, Price Waterhouse, specialized in financial research Chief Statistician, Opinion Research Corporation, designed predictive models Chief of the Survey Design Branch, U.S. Bureau of the Census Dr. Cowan is the co-author of two books, one on evaluation of survey and census methods and one on econometric measures related to the welfare of the U.S. economy. He has written numerous articles on statistical methods, sampling, rare and elusive population research, and optimization techniques.
