About Chuck Foster

I am currently a Veterans Claim Examiner for the Florida Department of Veteran Affairs (Service Officer) at the Gainesville VA Medical Center. I assist veterans in North Florida and South Georgia to obtain benefits and file disability claims. I have been employed as a VCE since Nov 2013. Our office assists an approximately 400-500 veterans per month. I am a certified Veteran Service Officer accredited by the American Legion. Specialties: Non Service Connected Pension with Aid & Attendance, Disability Claims and Individual Unemployability I was previously employed with WorkSource (4yrs, 10 mos) to provide assessment, counseling and training in the area of employment. I have facilitated Resume and Unemployment Workshops. I performed outreach to local Army Reserve and Army National Guard Units, VA Outpatient Clinic and community organizations to provide a comprehensive network of referral services. I retired in 2008 from the US Air Force after 24 years. I was employed as a Security Policemen for 8 years and as a Personnel Manager for the last 15 years in various locations to include my last assignment at FE Warren AFB in Cheyenne WY (Talk about cold). My background included Human Resources, recruiting, evaluations, separation and retirements I completed my undergraduate work in Business Administration with a minor Human Resources at Columbia College. I also obtained my AA in Human Resource Management from the Community College of the Air Force. I have continued my professional development through the National Veterans Training Institute at the University of Colorado with completion of Employment Labor Specialist specific courses.
