About Chuck Sells

As an experienced landscaper and avid outdoorsman, I’m fortunate to do what I love best: work outdoors to create environments that fit attractively with their surroundings. My designs are natural and informal—they enhance the existing landscape and look as if they’ve always been there. Boulders have become my signature feature (friends call me the “boulder guy”) because they anchor a landscape in a naturally artistic way. When designing, I go beyond greenery to consider color and texture; incorporating the beauty of flowering and non-flowering plants alike. I began in the landscape business more than 20 years ago, working my way up from lawn maintenance to design to management. I even operated my own company for a number of years. My experience includes landscaping, hardscaping, and lighting design. Now I manage the residential division of Rooted in Nature, where our team of landscapers provides a full menu of residential and commercial services. Working with customers to create attractive spaces is one of the best parts of my work. I enjoy the creative exchange and finding ways to enhance a property. Customers say I’m easy to work with and reliable, completing projects in a timely fashion. And they appreciate the extra accents I include for a finished look. Landscape projects are not just a “job” for me: they combine my love of the outdoors with an appreciation of natural beauty, so I tend to be very hands-on. And even when I’m not landscaping, I can almost always be found outdoors—camping, hiking, shooting sporting clays, and traveling.
