About Chyna Mitchell

Chyna Mitchell is a fourth year student at the Ohio State University studying Human Development and Family Science with a double minor in Leadership Studies and Women's Gender and Sexuality Studies. During her time at the university, she has fulfilled numerous leadership roles, including her current position as the Co-Chair for the 2014 Homecoming Parade, her two year tenure as a Resident Advisor, and involvement with student organizations such as the Ohio Union Activities Board, the Major Campus Events Committee, and the Mount Leadership Society. Mitchell has also served as an intern within the Keith B. Key Center for Leadership and Service, the office of the Vice President of Student Life, and is currently employed as the Ohio Union Events Student Intern. As a Columbus native, Mitchell is passionate about giving back to the local community. She has served as a head site leader for Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service, volunteered for Habitat for Humanity alternative break programs, and traveled abroad to Brazil in order to study black culture. Mitchell is a current employee at the Columbus Urban League and works closely with the Summer Youth Empowering Program to provide guidance to youth from low income families within the community. Upon graduation, Mitchell hopes to participate in a service abroad program prior to obtaining her masters degree in Higher Education and Student Affairs.
