I work in the GAPPS Biorepository managing the processing of clinical samples, preparing specimen collection kits for clinical sites, and maintaining of specimen data. I volunteered in the Giachelli lab researching pre-eclampsia focusing on vascular calcification of the placenta, the effects of extracellular phosphate on placenta cells, and gene expression of genes related to autophagy and endocytosis of cells treated with phosphate. My lab work entailed PCR and gel electrophoresis, along with many other things.
