About Ciaran Beveridge

Mechanical Engineer with a deep interest in advanced technologies for positive impact. Recently got back from an 18 month personal Overseas Experience in New Zealand which included part time work as well the completion of several challenging wilderness persuits. Previously worked as a Manufacturing Engineer for MKS, Optical Sensing Division. Managing, developing, designing, and upgrading production processes for ongoing and NPI projects. Improved production flow through Kaizen techniques and lean manufacturing methodologies. Designed new products with the NPI teams to focus on Design for Manufacturing (DFM). More recently I have developed a keen interest for outdoor gear design and manufacturing. I have tested my creations through ultra distance cycling events in the UK, Canada, and New Zealand. My passion for engineering and technology has developed through a long term interest in mechanical problems, my love for the outdoors and the technical projects I undertook at University. Continuing to develop skills in careful planning, risk assessment, and resilience through several challenges including the following- GB Divide Bikepacking Route elevation - Self Supported Individual Time Trial (ITT) across England, Wales, and Scotland)(April 2023)- First person to complete the Caves and Coves TT Bikepacking Route elevation - Self Supported ITT across remote regions of Northern Vancouver Island) & Fastest Known Time (FKT) holder for 2023.(August 2023)- Kahurangi 500 Bikepacking Route (600 elevation - Self Supported route across remote singletrack trails in the South Island of NZ)(October 2024)- Five Passes Backcountry Route (6 day remote backpacking route near Glenorchy, NZ.
