About Ciaran Flanagan
Following graduation from the National University of Ireland Galway with a BEng in Civil Engineering in 2017, I spent three years working in London and various locations in Australia as a Civil Engineer. The ongoing climate crisis prompted me to change career paths to help decarbonise the Built Environment sector. In September 2022 I capped off a challenging and rewarding year by submitting my dissertation "An Investigation into Passive Retrofitting Techniques for a Typical Post War UK Tower Block". I was delighted to be awarded a distinction for this dissertation as well as an overall distinction for the MSc in Environmental Design of Buildings, from the Welsh School of Architecture in Cardiff University. I am now working as a Sustainability Engineer for MosArt, working on a wide range of NZEB and Passive House projects across the globe. I am passionate and committed in all my endeavors and hope that I can have a small role to play in reducing carbon emissions and helping the planet.
