About Cindy Chen

Cindy is responsible for deepening strategic relationships with top institutions in Hong Kong. Previously, she led Post Trade Business Development at HKEX, leveraging DLT and advanced technology for post-trade solutions. With over 27 years in financial and securities services, Cindy began her career at Citigroup headquarter in New York City, working across strategy, client and product management, finance, operations, and advanced technology. She played a key role in the foreign exchange business during the launch of euro currency and headed Strategic Development and Planning for Securities Services globally before moving to Hong Kong in 2006. In Hong Kong, she managed the Citi Securities Services business, contributing to significant developments like Stock Connect, Bond Connect, RQFII/QFII, and RMB internationalization. Cindy was also the spokesperson for Citi's China Connect initiative. Cindy holds a Master’s Degree in Operations Research and Industrial Engineering, a Financial Engineering Certification, and a Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Engineering, from Cornell University. She became a CFA charter holder in 2003 and serves on the board of Hong Kong Generation Next Arts Limited (HKGNA). Hong Kong New Generation Arts Association (HKGNA) is a registered charitable organization in Hong Kong. Founded in 2009, its goal is to inspire and nurture the artistic achievements Hong Kong youth and help raise the standard of performing arts in Hong Kong.
