About Cindy Chow

I love creating and fostering connections—so that others can move from feeling alone to being part of a community. My job at Blossom Birth and Family gives me that opportunity, which makes my job less like work and more like joy. I'm blessed to work for a nonprofit where I can support "the mom who I once was." Starting our family in the Bay Area, with family in Canada, proved to be a challenge beyond what I could have imagined. As a new mom, I was surprised to feel so unsure, sad and isolated. I joined a local moms club where I made wonderful friends who could relate and empathize. Many remain friends to this day! When the kids were very young, I didn't know about Blossom. Once I did, I jumped at the chance to work here because I could help new families—and moms like me—to take classes together and to make new friends in an area that has so many "transient" families, living here for a short time. Volunteering is a passion. I contributed many years of unpaid work at our kids' schools. I've worked for PTAs, helped in class and outside in school gardens, at field trips, and now am proud to be a member of the board of the Mountain View Educational Foundation (MVEF). My goals are to inspire volunteerism and to build and strengthen community because we all belong.
